MISSION
Spark provides supplemental education services to homeschooling families in the greater Sacramento California area.
Our mission is to provide the space and environment for students to enjoy a wealth of educational experiences designed to meet them at their skill level, support their ongoing development, develop their passion for learning, and foster their sense of community.
We are a female founded and run 501c3 registered non-profit.
Marisol Himmel, aka "Ms. Moddy" President/Founder/ Program Director
The Chief Spark herself, Marisol founded Spark in 2016 after several years of providing individualized tutoring services. Moddy's experiences allow her to bring a deep understanding to the unique needs of each student. She strives to meet them where they are and help them see what they are capable of. Her classroom methodology engages both the logical and creative aspects of learning while instilling a sense of personal accountability and healthy emotional responses. Students are encouraged to express themselves authentically, both as individuals and as part of the Spark community, while engaging critical thinking and reasoning skills.
